What we have been up to...

Apparently we do not like our camera.  We haven't taken any pictures in the last week or so since Grandma and Grandpa Thye left, taking with them their new camera that we were using every day.  Maybe Josh needs to buy me a replacement. :o)

Anyway, we haven't been up to much.  So I guess there aren't very many pictures to show.  But here is a synopsis of what has happened since I last posted.

1.  Her cord feel off, leaving behind a cute little belly button.  Now for a real bath...
2.  Mommy's steri strips are falling off, revealing a scar that is not as bad as I thought it would be.
3.  She is smiling. (I am not claiming my daughter is gifted, but I swear she is!  And I have three witnesses.)
4.  We went out to dinner as a family then went to a going away party for Melissa.
5.  We had our first family photo shoot with Andrea Reeves from Artisan Photography.  (Pictures to be posted later.)
6.  We made our first trip to the mall.  She slept the whole time. :o)
7.  She talked with Grandma Thye on Skype.

And tonight... we are introducing a bottle so she can eat when mommy goes back to work.

She is a lot of work, but so worth it!

It may not feel like you have "been up to much" when you try to write it down for others, but I know for a fact that you have been!

Feeding (and feeding and feeding and feeding)
Social skills
Language skills
Emotional development
Exercise and muscle stimulation
Vision and hearing development
Trust-building
And on and on and on....

Every moment you spend with her, even when you are stuck on the couch because she fell asleep nursing and you can't bear to wake her, and your phone/laptop/book/remote control is out of reach, you are working hard to nurture that baby.
Give yourself credit where it's do!
Can't wait to see you! ;)

So happy for you Jenni. I can't wait to get together with our little girls. You look so beautiful and happy. And you're lucky your steri-strips began to fall off. Mine stayed as stuck as they were the day they were put on and so when my doctor ripped mine off, she took with it a bunch of skin! Ouch! It took two more weeks for that to heal, now I'm good. Love you.
