Shopping for pants, a NIGHTMARE!!

I am so discouraged. I went shopping for maternity pants today (since all mine are fighting for dear life as I peel them on in the morning) and ever pair was either too short or too tight in the hips/butt area. I know this is my "problem area" normally but I am usually able to dress just fine if I find the right clothes. However preggo pants are just not doing it for me. And for some reason I thought it would be easier to fit my body now that clothes are made huge. Nope. No go! If you have any suggestions let me know. I am trying to save some money and maybe that is the problem...

I remember shopping for maternity pants at 8 or 9 weeks when I couldn't button my own pants, but maternity clothes were HUGE still. I became a fan of Old Navy's 0-6 month style pant. Also, bella bands are great to keep pants up and add a layer of length when tops get too high as your belly grows.

I avoided maternity pants and stayed in the junior's section finding several stylish pairs with stretchy waistbands. Those were my favorites and were very useful for the couple of months after the baby. I also borrowed from my friend who was no longer pregnant. Also: skirts with stretchy waistbands. I wore skirts more during my pregnancy than I ever did before. There are also maternity clothes at Once Upon a Child and other second hand stores if you don't feel like spending money at this in-between stage. And I found great maternity pants at Burlington Coat Factory! Good Luck!

Ross and TJ Max were great for me when I needed some, especially for work. They are kind of hit and miss, either they have a lot or none. I also really liked Old Navy and they were usually pretty good price wise. Good luck!!!

Old Navy...definately. But, I gotta say...I lived on Gap Maternity Sales. LOVE Gap maternity. Some people like target...but I always looked terrible in their maternity.

Jenni, I totally understand your dilemma...I was just going through this the other day. The pants I found were too short as well and didn't fit. The smalls were too small and the mediums were too large. So after spending an entire day out looking at multiple stores, I had luck with Old Navy. I spent a little more than I wanted, but it was SO worth it! I was able to get my size and length-LONG! I got the full panel and it is so comfortable. Since you and I have similar issue with pants, try them first. Good luck my friend, love you.

Shopping for maternity pants is the WORST! I thought I would have good luck at Target because when you see their stuff and you're not pregnant it looks cute, but it was a nightmare in the fitting room. I ended up using the bella band through month 5, at which point it couldn't take it anymore, and I had good luck with stetchy skirts from Old Navy and jeans from Gap. I have to say though, it is TOTALLY worth it to spend a little more money on a pair of good maternity jeans that you'll wear every day, and then spend much less money on some other basics.

Totally agree with Julia. I had to good pair of pants that I splurged on and lived in.
